# Managing Your Games: Rename, Archive and Unarchive

> How to rename, archive and unarchive your ShipThis games from the command line. Hide test games you no longer use without deleting anything.

Source: https://shipth.is/docs/guides/managing-games

Over time your game list can fill up with test games and experiments. You can rename a game, or archive it to hide it from your game list. Archived games can be brought back at any time.

## See your games

Run the [`shipthis game list`](https://shipth.is/docs/reference/game/list) command:

```bash
shipthis game list
```

<pre class="terminal__body">
<font color="#4CE64C"><b>david@sal9000</b></font>:<font color="#295FCC"><b>~/game</b></font>$ shipthis game list
┌──────────┬──────────────┬────────────┐
│    id    │     name     │ createdAt  │
├──────────┼──────────────┼────────────┤
│ 0c179fc4 │ My Real Game │ 01/09/2026 │
├──────────┼──────────────┼────────────┤
│ a1b2c3d4 │ test         │ 20/08/2026 │
└──────────┴──────────────┴────────────┘
</pre>

The `id` column shows the short game ID. Use it with the `--gameId` flag in the commands below.

To sort by the last update, add `--orderBy updatedAt`. To see more games, use `--pageNumber` and `--pageSize`.

## Rename a game

Use the `--name` flag of the [`shipthis game details`](https://shipth.is/docs/reference/game/details) command:

```bash
shipthis game details --name "Rage Quit Royale"
```

This changes the name in ShipThis only. The name in the App Store and Google Play does not change.

## Archive a game

Run the [`shipthis game archive`](https://shipth.is/docs/reference/game/archive) command. Without `--gameId`, it archives the game in the **shipthis.json** file of the current directory.

```bash
shipthis game archive --gameId a1b2c3d4
```

<pre class="terminal__body">
<font color="#4CE64C"><b>david@sal9000</b></font>:<font color="#295FCC"><b>~/game</b></font>$ shipthis game archive --gameId a1b2c3d4
Game "a1b2c3d4" (test) is now archived. It is not shown in your game list.
Please run `shipthis game unarchive --gameId a1b2c3d4` to unarchive it.
</pre>

Archiving does not delete anything. The credentials, builds and jobs of the game stay in ShipThis. Archived games are not shown by `shipthis game list` or on the games page of the website.

[info]
**You cannot ship an archived game.** The [`shipthis game ship`](https://shipth.is/docs/reference/game/ship) command and the wizards stop with an error. Unarchive the game first.

## See archived games

Use the `--archived` flag to show only archived games, or `--all` to show all your games:

```bash
shipthis game list --archived
```

<pre class="terminal__body">
<font color="#4CE64C"><b>david@sal9000</b></font>:<font color="#295FCC"><b>~/game</b></font>$ shipthis game list --archived
┌──────────┬──────┬────────────┬────────────┐
│    id    │ name │ createdAt  │ archivedAt │
├──────────┼──────┼────────────┼────────────┤
│ a1b2c3d4 │ test │ 20/08/2026 │ 14/10/2026 │
└──────────┴──────┴────────────┴────────────┘
</pre>

The [`shipthis game status`](https://shipth.is/docs/reference/game/status) command also shows if a game is archived.

## Unarchive a game

Run the [`shipthis game unarchive`](https://shipth.is/docs/reference/game/unarchive) command:

```bash
shipthis game unarchive --gameId a1b2c3d4
```

<pre class="terminal__body">
<font color="#4CE64C"><b>david@sal9000</b></font>:<font color="#295FCC"><b>~/game</b></font>$ shipthis game unarchive --gameId a1b2c3d4
Game "a1b2c3d4" (test) is now unarchived. You can ship it again.
</pre>

The game is shown in your game list again, and you can ship it.

## Delete a game

You cannot delete a game yourself at the moment. If you need a game deleted, [email us](mailto:support@shipth.is) with the game ID.
